  • Inventory of Thomas BRASILL of Quarrendon in the parish of Bierton, Bucks
    Reference found in the Index to the Probate Accounts of England & Wales: "Brasil, Thomas, Quarrendon, Bucks, 1663, Oxon RO MSS Wills Pec 33/3/21" (The intentory was in fact extracted December 1, 1673). Thomas died intestate; widow, relict, administratix is Mary Brasill; children named (all Brasill) are Thomas, Mary, James, Joseph, and John. Thomas's occupation is not stated, but, judging from the inventory (foure cowes, one maire, six ewes, ...), he could have been a dairyman. His goods were valued at £68.14.8 and letters of administration were granted to Mary 7 March AD 1673 (=1674).

    Archdeaconry of Bucks, Centre for Buckinghamhire Studies, Aylesbury; D/A/We/47/5
    Dated 3 November 1701, proved 18 April 1702. Children named (all Brasell) are James (executor), Joseph, John, and Mary ("wife of Joseph Franklin"). Others mentioned are Mary How of Hardwick (owing £10) and Richard Harley of Rowsome (owing £5). Witnessed by Robert Martin, George Wingrave, and Mary X Triplett.
