Basic detail obtained from the Oxfordshire Family History Society's 1841 census index; verified using film at the local Family History Centre in Berlin and the same Society's 1841 Census CD.
It does not seem likely that any of the Brazells recorded in the 1841 census of Oxfordshire came from the county. Most are descendants of John Brazil, the agricultural labourer living in Weston, nr. Thame, who says that he does not come from Oxfordshire. Two of the three others are definitely from Buckinghamshire, and I suspect that the third, John, will turn out to be from Bucks, too...perhaps even from Quainton!
Elizabeth Brasell - Baptised 4 Sep 1803 in Thame, Oxfordshire, daughter of John & Martha below. Elizabeth is serving in the same household in the 1851 and 1861 censuses. Farmer James Way was married to her sister Mary (who died and was buried 21 Apr 1826 in Albury) and they had three children, so James is Elizabeth's brother-in-law, not just her employer.
John Brazil - In 1851, there is a John born Thame, Oxfordshire, in service in Bermondsey, Surrey. This is probably the same John, baptised 2 Sep 1831 in Thame the son of Thomas & Elizabeth Brazil, and the grandson of John & Martha below. Wonder what he's doing in Waterperry?
William & Elizabeth Braziel - According to the 1851 census, William was born 1794 in North Weston, Oxfordshire, just outside of Thame. I imagine this is the same William Brail (sic) baptised 22 Jun 1794 in Thame as the son of John & Martha. His baptism entry describes parents John & Martha as "poor." Elizabeth's maiden name was Abbott, so William is probably a brother. (Elizabeth was baptised 4 Sep 1791 and William was baptised 28 Sep 1800, both children of William & Mary.)
Joseph Brassell - My 3x great grandfather. Joseph was apprenticed to cordwainer Thomas Cock 16 Dec 1836 at Chepping Wycombe, and probably moved to Chinnor at the same time. He was born in Quainton, Buckinghamshire.
Thomas & Charlotte Brazil - Thomas was born in Hambledon, Buckinghamshire, according to the 1851 census. Would be nice if I could check the Hambledon parish registers, but, unfortunately, there's nothing on the I.G.I. and no transcriptions have been done. So either I order the film from the LDS...or spend a day at the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies in Aylesbury.
Thomas Brazel - According to the 1861 and 1881 censuses, the only Thomas born around the appropriate time in Oxfordshire was born in Tetsworth, so I assume this is the same one, baptised 26 December 1819 as the son of William Brasel, labourer, & Elizabeth (above), and the grandson of John & Martha. Supporting evidence: Jane Hollier is in fact Thomas' sister, who married William Hollier 17 Aug 1839 in Aston Rowant. Rebecca Hollier was baptised 30 Aug 1834 in Sydenham the daughter of John and Mary. I haven't been able to find Thomas in the 1851 census, but in 1861 he's a farmer with wife and four children in Newnham Murren, Oxfordshire.
Thomas & Elizabeth Brazel - According to the 1861 census, Thomas was born in North Weston, Oxfordshire. He was baptised 28 Aug 1796 in Thame as another son of John & Martha below. The unnamed infant was baptised 29 May 1942 in Shirburn as Noah, "son of Thomas Brazil & Elizabeth farmer."
John & Martha Brazil - This John is not in the 1851 census, unfortunately; he died 25 March 1844 aged 78 (=born 1766). He might possibly be the same John who was baptised 23 Aug 1765 in Quainton, Buckinghamshire, the son of John Brasell and Mary Green, since there is no John of approximately the same age recorded in the 1841 census of Buckinghamshire (at least according to the genealogist.co.uk index and transcription). John Brasel & Martha Roberts were married 30 Oct 1793 in Thame. The little girl in the household, Ann Neighbour, is the daughter of William Neighbour, who married John & Martha's daughter Susannah 23 Apr 1832 in Thame. But where is Susannah? There is another NEIGHBOUR girl - Martha, aged 7 - recorded above with the family of John & Martha's son William in Kingston Blount; could she be Ann's sister?
