According to the 1851 census, William was born approximately 1796/97, which ties in with the date of baptism. However, the burial entry in the Cholsey register (12 Oct 1864) states that William was 75, i.e., born in the year after 12 Oct 1789; so either the recorded age is wrong ... or we have buried the wrong William!
Check the 1841 and 1851 censuses of Cholsey for other William FRANKLINs, and try and identify the Emma FRANKLIN who was recorded with James & Hannah in 1841 (aged 20) and who married James FREEMAN in 1848, since her father seems to have been a William, too, at least according to her marriage entry (1848 May 6 FREEMAN X James f.a. widower.o.t.p. lab. s. James, lab & FRANKLYN Emma f.a. sp. o.t.p. d. Wm, lab. Wit: Thomas X FRANKLYN, Maria BRIDGES G.K. MOREELL off.min). Could witness Thomas be our William's brother Thomas?Thomas?

According to the 1851 census, Lucy was born approximately 1798 in Wallingford, Berkshire; according to the burial entry (2 Oct 1866) she was 75 when buried, i.e., born approximately 1791.
William & Lucy were both "75" when buried; perhaps nobody knew their correct ages so they just equated "really old" with being 75 when asked by the vicar?
According to the OFHS transcript of the Cholsey registers, Lucy's maiden name was BLEY. However, the name BLEY is not recorded in the registers of any of the Wallingford parish churches. On Free BMD, there is no BLEY recorded in Wallingford, Berkshire or Oxfordshire.
According to son Charles' birth certificate, Lucy's married name was ILSLEY.
