On the back of this photograph, Edith has written: "In loving memory of my devoted husband, Ernest F. Mills who entered St Marys Hospital Southsea on Milton with bronchial pneumonia Jan 21st 1953. Was 78 on the 22nd. Very light apparently improving Sunday 22nd but slept peacefully away on Tuesday evening 24th. Interred at Portchester Castle Church Jan 30th 1953.
